Arceus Glitch- The ???-Type

Wed Oct 15, 2008, 7:00 AM
For those of you havent heard apparently tampering with arceus in pokemon platinum to change his type with action replay or such, has uncovered a new form.

the ??? type.

[link]

Arceus's Multitype ability allows it to change types based on which plate it holds. Although there is no ???-type plate, the code for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl has a sprite for ???-type Arceus. It is likely that this sprite was included to prevent the game from crashing if its base type was hacked to be ??? instead of Normal.

This is actually kinda a big shocker.lol

since the egg in teh game known as BAD EGG is shown as ??? type, maybe it hatches into arceues?o.o who can say.

have fun checking.

I personally have not looked into the game's hex, I would really like to, though. It's to my belief that the ??? type is there as a bit of a placeholder. An out of bounds kind of thing. Either that, or it's there if a type is null, or not valid. Which means that setting Arceus's type through some exploitation of multi-type would allow it to get to one of those. I'm really not sure, though.

It would make sense for it to be null, since bad eggs have bad and out of reach values, causing things to be.... Well, bad. Like, their graphics, their stats, everything.

But... I haven't actually seen the code, so.... I couldn't give you an actual answer ^_^;;

well interestingly,i have to wonder,in ??? type, what types is it Strong, weak, and null against.
its all a curious nature really...

If it is what I think it is, it's nothing. But, I don't know how the game handles nothing, so I can only guess that there's no changes in the effects of attacks. Either that or complete ineffectivity.

well i meant test it out,it coudl be strong to dragons.o.o;XD

maybe itll finally give giratina or plakia a BIG challnege.
:iconsuicunedude:
Bah, I have not a problem with either ^_^

But then again, I've had an affinity for ice pokemon, anyway. Glaceon and Weavile have been lifesavers for me in this generation.
